Hello everyone!
Here's a short update on what we're doing with Dreams Campaign these days.
At the moment we are in the process of registering Dreams Campaign with the government of Kenya, as an organisation based in Kenya, for it to be legally recognised by the government.
We're still sorting out a few issues with the District officer in our area to give us a green light to finalise the process, so soon it will be done soon and we will update you then.
Also, we have agreed that for December we're gonna hold an outdoor activity. It's going to take place in one of these three places namely: Paradise lost, Ngong Hills or the 14 falls in Thika. We're calling on youths to like our new facebook page and help us decide on which of the 3 venues would be a nice place to visit.
The activity is scheduled to take place on the 10th of December. This is going to be our end of the year event and so we expect lots of people to come.

'Made in the streets' children's home.
Hi everyone!
A quick update on how things are going. On the 13th of August we went to 'Made in the streets' children's home, located in Nairobi's Ruai estate.
The place caters/acts as a rehabiltation center for kids who we're street boys and girls in Nairobi city.
The boys and girls are transformed and are given a home and education.
Dreams Campaign went there and hung out with the youths and got to hear their stories and they encouraged one another.
On this day we were supposed to be joined by Rhiza, which is a Dutch organisation that promotes education in areas where it is most needed.
Unfortunately due to high flight prices they could not make it over for the day but we sure felt their support strongly.
They are going to be partnering with Dreams Campaign in doing stuff over here in Kenya to help where necessary.

Our plans for August
Hi guys!
I just want to give you all a quick update on what's going on with the Dreams Campaign at the moment.
This August, we're having an organisation called Rhiza on board with us. Rhiza is coming to Nairobi to see what we've been doing as dreams campaign down here.
Together we're going to visit some of the projects we've been doing before, and then we'll finish with a home visit in Nairobi Ruai's estate. There we will also carry a basketball clinic for the kids at the home.
At the home in Nairobi Ruai's estate, we're hoping to encourage the kids a lot for their future lives, and we believe Rhiza can really help us out with that.
Preparations for the actual day are done, and the home visit will be on the 13th of August 2011.

Report on the visit to Happy Life children's home by Dreams Campaign on 2nd april 2011
INTRODUCTION
Dreams Campaign is a Community Based Organisation that helps fight child abuse through awareness to the public through activities that bring people together for a common purpose which is to help the child.
HOME LOCATION AND BRIEF HISTORY
Happy Life children’s home is located in Roisambu in Kasarani off Thika road. It was started in 2001 with only two babies and has now grown to sheltering over fifty children aged between 2days old to 7 and a half years old.
PURPOSE OF THE VISIT
Dreams Campaign purpose for the visit was to help in the services of the day for the home to help relieve the staff and to also spend time with the children.
WHAT DREAMS CAMPAIGN DID
Dreams Campaign through its members managed to take a list of things that included:

- Cleaned the rooms where the children played, do their studies and also where the children slept.
- Fold clothes of the whole home.
- Changed the beddings to the children’s beds.
- Hanged clothes on the lines that had been washed.
- Plaited the girls’ hair
- Fed the children and helped in putting them to sleep
Dreams Campaign through its members managed to take a list of things that included:
- Baby clothes
- 12 packets of pasta
- 25kgs of maize flour
- 4 kgs of baking flour
- 5kgs of rice
- Ripe bananas
- Packets of sugar
TARGETED APPEARANCE
People who attended the visit were 30 members. Some of the members it was their first time to come to the visit and others had been visiting the homes with Dreams Campaign.
CHALLENGES FACED
We reached the home a bit late because everyone had not yet arrived so it took quite some time waiting for everyone.
Dreams Campaign could not get everything from the list of the things that the home needed but lacked since most of its members are in college.
Dreams Campaign members were informed of the visit quite late making the turnout low as to what had been estimated.
Lack of funds that could to enable Dreams Campaign partner with the home.
LESSONS LEARNT
Departure time to an event should be given ample time for waiting for people to arrive to avoid being late.

We've started planning events for the year 2011, and we thought it would be good to let you guys know what we're planning to do this following year. We will also keep you updated the rest of the year, especially when we come up with more events than we already have.

The First Year
To the friends of the Dreams Campaign, we're hoping that you started this new year on a bright note. We've also started on a bright note, and we've set some high expectations to this year. You will hear more about that later, but for now, let us take you through the amazing things we got to do last year.
March 2010,
The Dreams Campaign officially started. It became more than just a dream, and plans were made for April.
April 2010
The Dreamers visited a home in Ruai just near the outcast of Nairobi called 'Made in the Streets'. The home takes in street kids and educates them untill they are able to solely upkeep themselves.The Dreamers brought with them clothes and food to the home, and played an engaging basketball match with the kids. There were a couple of kids who were mentored because they had special gifts e.g. musicians, painters and models.
August 2010
The next event, this time the Dreamers visited a Imani Children's Home situated in Kayole East in Nairobi. The home takes in children from 1 day old, untill they're around 18 years old. Because of the high number of kids in the home, the home was blessed with another piece of land. On that piece of land, they've built another home to cater the older kids. The Dreamers helped with day to day chores, relieving the workers of their duties, so the workers could have a day off. The Dreamers also donated clothes to the kids to spice up their August holiday.

December 2010
On December 28th the team visited Little Rock, situated in Kibera (which is the 2nd largest slum in Africa, after Soweto). Little Rock is a children's daycare centre, which opened it's doors 7 years ago and up to this day it caters for 600 kids each day. The centre also functions as an early education centre. The centre has a programmer who cares for the disabled kids, since there are no institutions that cater for such kids elsewhere. The day the Dreamers were there, they held a soccer clinic for the kids. The clinic turned out to be a great experience for the kids, it helped them enjoy the festive season since their Christmas holidays usually have less highlights. The team donated food, and they had some snackbites with the kids.
